The Halfpipe

The Halfpipe

It was a nice change of pace to be able to get out and take some pics of these guys. I expect to get a lot better photos next time since the first was mostly getting accustomed to the fast movements and camera settings. This guy was fast and in control. He definitely seemed like one of the best on the halfpipe that was there that day. This was really the first time I have taken any fast paced shots. I plan on going back and heading up to the big park they have in Charlotte sometime. Ash UPDATE

Whoa Nelly!...I was checking my traffic and found my blog on the Hot List at Photoblogs.org at #61.... Nice....
Camera: Canon EOS 20D (Canon)

  • Nice action shot - caught this at the perfect moment.

It's wicked how it says "Alex" on the wall behind him, scratch in. Almost like he wanted to get photographed there so everyone would know his name.

  • Congrats on making the "hot list"! I've certainly never been on it :-)

This guy is certainly focus, but wonder if there would have been a better way to frame him? It feels like he's falling out of the picture. Or is that the idea?

  • michael: no that's not the idea...it may appear that he is fixing to go back down the pipe or the idea that he is falling....but he's actually grinding the rail from right to left at a very fast speed...
