Moto-Car : Packard Patrician

Moto-Car : Packard Patrician

On our way to Bar Harbor last Tuesday, I came across what looked like a 'vintage car' show....i about broke my neck going by....about 3 miles down the road i decided to test out the brakes on the rental vehicle we were driving.....i headed back of course....turns out it wasn't a car show.....it was actually a car dealership.....we were pretty tired and i had a short conversation with the owner....he told me to rest up and come back while he handed me his business card..... so a couple of days later i headed back...i wasn't sure how comfortable the guy would feel with me wanting to take a few pics...it was a shock to find Terry(the owner) extremely friendly...after about 5 minutes it felt as if i knew the guy my entire life.....he gave me a tour around his vintage 'castle' he was building.... going in that place was like stepping back in time....on one side was a huge garage with a second floor that wrapped around the place....the other side consisted of his office, garage, and living area.....i cannot even begin to describe it....not even counting the cars, everything in that place was vintage.... i ended up taking a ton of photos.....this was a partially restored Packard...looks like about the only thing it needed was a paint job.....i liked it just the way it was.... check out his website.....his company is called Moto-Car... while i was there someone dropped him off a vintage antique.....he told me people are always dropping him off new things....i guess i have to find something for him when i go back.....

  • Great shot. It took me back to a place in a novel I just read. The graininess of the background goes well with the shot, too.

  • They really knew how to build cars back then. Driving a car like this must be so much more fun than driving a modern car. I like the way you processed this. It looks like a toy car with the angle you chose... and Bar harbour is a beautiful place by the way. I love New England. you should go back in early October - the foliage is amazing around that time, but then again, I'm sure you know already :)
