Pete Yorn
I got to check out Pete Yorn in concert last night. I really enjoyed it because he's probably one of my favorite musicians. It was pretty small venue so I expected to take some photos. I was a bit surprised when I found out I was a little too close with the 50mm.
Security grabbed me up on the last song of the night. Everybody was taking photos but I get singled out as the professional. The guy starts asking me a bunch of questions...and i tell him....'the concert is over!'.....it ended about 30 seconds after that.....
It was cool to also get back on the hot list at photoblogs.org since my long absence. Looks like I briefly went into the top 10 and now just hovering around #19.
Camera: Canon EOS 20D (Canon)
Focal Length: 50 mm
Exposure: 1/80 sec
Aperture: f 1.8

The hot , slightly over exposed lights and background grain give it a rather mystical feel - ethereal might be another way of putting it. The way the grain creates a fog effect is very interesting.
There is also another anomaly in this image and I don't know if you intended to capture this or not, but it's a great effect. Looking right to left the image starts sharp and gradually moves into the grainy fade - a sort of movement from solid to insubstantial. It's really nifty.
Not your best image here, but certainly not your worst. Has some great effects and is a worthwhile effort.
