I Shot A Man!

I Shot A Man!

When I was in Charlotte the other week I took this. Just an office building I walked by. I should have some new photos soon. I have been debating about posting a photo I took the other Friday. When I started this photoblog I really wanted to get a lot of people with emotion in my photos. This thing really has grown in a different direction. I guess it's been more about perspective and composition than anything. I guess my personality and just learning camera math kept it from that...i decided to post the photo(s) but not as a photo for the blog... So here's my story... I came upon a wreck the other week. Traffic was backed up. After letting a few people in my lane I hit the gas. Of course, I had 'the guy trying to get over regardless if I was gonna stop or not'. I invited him to hit my car by not stopping. He probably came within an inch but did stop. He wasn't too happy so he gave me a nice hand gesture telling me where I could spend eternity. I decided to stop both lanes and have a few words with him. Well that was that. Of course, I pulled out the camera after the altercation and switched to burst mode. So when he came by the second time, I pulled the camera up free handed and took a flurry of shots. He went from angry to confused to my best friend. He really didn't know what was going on with that huge wide angle in his face. I guess a camera can be very intimidating... Love the story it tells. The wife's expression is really priceless. He should be more careful. There are a lot of crazy people in the world today. And of course...the SHOT

  • I love the sequence. He really changed his attitude when he saw the camera pointed at him. It went from "I'm going to rip your head off" to "hey buddy, give me a call..lets do lunch." haha

  • Hi Ash, I love your story and of course : "the SHOT". No panic if your photoblog goes in every direction, I can feel your emotion in each pic. I think, you gradually impose your own style. (Hope my english is not so bad and you understand what I'm writting...)
    See you man!

  • First, I love the light in this photo...so soft, green, warm, inviting.
Second, the series is quite funny. Yes, given a chance to be themselves, most people soften; when shocked, their true colors show.
